Midtown Houston is served by three separate organizations that work seamlessly together to ensure the community is safe, beautiful, and vibrant neighborhood: Midtown Management District, Midtown Redevelopment Authority, and Midtown Park Conservancy. Learn more about each organization, and how we can assist you!

Midtown Redevelopment Authority

The Midtown Redevelopment Authority (MRA) and Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 2 (TIRZ) operate in tandem to drive the revitalization of Midtown Houston. The TIRZ captures the incremental increase in property tax revenue within its boundaries, while MRA channels these funds back into the neighborhood to improve essential infrastructure, including roads, utilities parks, public spaces, and cultural amenities.

Midtown Management District

The Midtown Management District (MMD), established in 2000, is dedicated to making Midtown Houston a vibrant and welcoming community. Guided by a 10-year service plan, MMD also promotes arts, culture, and urban planning efforts to enrich the district.

Midtown Parks Conservancy

The Midtown Parks Conservancy (MPC), a non-profit organization established in 2013, is dedicated to enhancing Midtown Houston through the creation and upkeep of beautiful, accessible green spaces.

midtown cultural arts district

The Midtown Cultural Arts District is a vibrant and inclusive space where art and entertainment flourish. Since its designation by the Texas Commission on the Arts in 2012, the district has dedicated its efforts to making diverse cultural programs and artistic expressions accessible to everyone.

midtown parking benefit district

The Midtown Parking Benefits District is a community-driven initiative that works to enhance Midtown Houston by reinvesting a portion of the parking meter and permitting revenues back into the neighborhood. These funds finance public improvement projects recommended by an advisory committee of local business representatives and residents, ensuring that the community has a voice in the neighborhood’s development.

The advisory committee meets quarterly to suggest projects that can make Midtown more accessible and attractive. The committee selects projects that will help improve parking, enhance public spaces, and support neighborhood development.

By focusing on innovative parking solutions and community-driven improvements, the parking benefits district contributes to making Midtown a more vibrant and enjoyable place to explore, relax, and connect.
