The temperatures are dropping and the holidays are right around the corner, which means it’s time to kick your rear into gear, before the feasts begin! Lucky for you, you can get your sweat on without ever leaving Midtown Houston. Here are five roads all leading to a fitter you this winter.

Get Fit in Midtown

Roz Jones will get your blood pumping and then stretch you out with High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) followed by Yoga Flow classes in Elizabeth Baldwin Park the second and fourth Saturdays of November. The calorie-crushing HIIT party begins at 9:30 am and lasts 45 minutes. Yoga Flow immediately follows at 10:30 am and lasts 45 minutes. Classes are free, but participants are encouraged to bring a mat and water.

Zumba

If your ideal workout involves shaking your groove thing, then you won’t want to miss this free Zumba class in Midtown Park on November 26th. Burn away those calories with a smile on your face, just before the ball drops on Turkey Day. The jams begin at 6:30 pm and last until 7:30 pm and the classes are led by instructors from FiTMiX Yoga & Latin Fitness Studio.

9Round Fitness

You don’t have to go nine rounds, because 30 minutes of cardio kickboxing will make you feel like you have. Fun, exciting, and always different, 9Round welcomes fitness newbies, middleweights, and heavyweight fitness challengers into the ring. The first workout is free

Elevate Strength

This boutique Midtown studio is for anyone who wants the benefits of barre with the athleticism of HIIT and the flexibility of yoga. Who says you can’t have it all? Each 50-minute class promises to challenge and energize you. Just bring water.

F45 Training Midtown Houston

For those of you unfamiliar, F stands for functional and 45 is the number of minutes each class lasts. Combining high-intensity training with circuit training, F45 workouts offer a full-body workout that annihilates calories. These tough workouts can be adjusted to your level of fitness and are designed to be fun. Plus, training in a team environment keeps it challenging.

Don’t let the autumn chill slow you down. Head out to one (or all) of these training opportunities this fall and get a head-start on your New Years’ resolutions.
