Get to Know Your Local Law Enforcement at National Night Out and Coffee with a Cop in Midtown Houston

This October, you can meet and mingle with local law enforcement at two events hosted at Midtown Houston parks. During National Night Out, neighbors, Midtown staff and law enforcement officers gather to share ideas and get to know one another. Coffee With a Cop similarly offers residents an opportunity to initiate conversations with the people who serve and protect their neighborhood.

At both events, guests are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines, wear masks, and adhere to appropriate social distancing guidelines. Here’s an overview on how to participate in these annual, community events.

Build Relationships at National Night Out – Midtown Park

Amidst the stunning backdrop of Midtown Park, you will be able to meet with neighbors, Midtown Board Members and staff, law enforcement officers, elected officials, and more. National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, October 5th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

There will be food, activities, and giveaways as you chat and develop rapport with representatives from two Houston Police Department Patrol Divisions, Central and , South Central, SEAL Security Solutions, Harris County Constable Precinct 7, METRO Police Department, and Houston Community College Police. You’ll enjoy plenty of opportunities to share your experiences and get to know firsthand the individuals who keep Midtown Houston safe. Learn more about the event here.

Spark Conversations at Coffee with a Cop – Bagby Park

The very next morning, on Wednesday, October 6th, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., you can enjoy continental breakfast during Coffee with a Cop. This event will be held at Bagby Park, which recently reopened to the public after park improvements.

Join neighbors and law enforcement officers over a revitalizing cup of coffee thanks to Starbucks Midtown and fresh pastries from The Baker’s Man to discuss safety initiatives in a more intimate setting. Get more information here.
