Midtown Houston’s Newest Event: Beats & Eats

We’re excited to introduce a new series featuring local bloggers and influencers as they capture their experiences in Midtown Houston. This month’s sponsored guest blog post is by  Karrinn of Feed the Curves

Houston, we’ve got a must-do activity at Midtown Park! Experience the food, fun, and music at Beats & Eats, the newest party in the park taking place on the second Friday of every month.

I had the pleasure to attend Midtown Park’s newest event, Beats & Eats, and revel in adventure with friends.

Midtown Houston hosts over 200 free events every year at four parks – Midtown Park, Bagby Park, Elizabeth Glover Park, and Elizabeth Baldwin Park. One of those free events is Beats & Eats, a party in Midtown Houston’s newest greenspace, Midtown Park, located at 2811 Travis Street.

Beats & Eats has the perfect recipe for fun. At the event, you’ll find great food, music, dancing, games, and a great happy hour vibe. I enjoyed some delicious bites from Cool Runnings Jamaican Food Truck and Zanset Catering.

The music playing that night was incredible. Guests enjoyed three DJ’s: DJ Mav, DJ Athenz, and GT Mayne. Each one added their own flavor to the mix and made everyone sing along and dance. This is an adult-friendly party so adult beverages were on hand thanks to Texas Draft Wagon.

It doesn’t get any more H-Town than watching the sunset with a Crawford Bock in hand, local musical performers on the ones and twos, and a great selection of food and drinks in the middle of a manicured greenspace.

If you plan to attend Beats & Eats on September 13th, here is a tip: wear comfortable shoes because you’ll be out on the lawn and you may just want to dance the night away. I also suggest bringing lawn chairs or a blanket.

Navigating to Midtown Park is easy; you can ride the MetroRail, ride your bike, or rent a bike and dock it at Midtown Park’s newest BCycle station. There’s also an easy access parking garage on site for your convenience.

Beats & Eats takes place from 6:30pm – 9:30pm on the second Friday of every month. Don’t miss out on the fun!
