Midtown Houston has eagerly anticipated the unveiling of exciting new changes at Bagby Park in Midtown. As of February 2021, we are thrilled to announce that many of the enhanced spaces at Bagby Park are now open to the public.

In addition to the dog park, bocce ball court, and public seating areas which remained open during construction, visitors to the park are now able to enjoy the new and improved amenities, including:

  • An upgraded stage with a canopy and additional, programmable lighting to better accommodate outdoor performances
  • Lawn modifications and improved site drainage to provide a relaxing space of natural beauty
  • Additional perimeter lighting to increase visibility into the park and improve public safety

Park spaces west of the lawn and stage including the expanded restrooms and storage facilities remain closed in anticipation of La Calle Tacos’s grand opening this spring. Ramon Soriano, Owner of La Calle said, “I just recently moved to Midtown and I really enjoy the environment. We believe the young, hip, and the energetic neighbor base goes really well with our brand. As a small business, we feel this is a great privilege and we appreciate the opportunity.”

Stay tuned for updates on the full reopening of Bagby Park in Midtown, including the official arrival of La Calle Tacos to Midtown Houston.
