Round Out the Summer With Midtown Houston Park Programming This September
Summer is officially coming to a close in September, but luckily we have a full range of fun and exciting programming to wind down the final days.
Here’s what’s ahead:
September Midtown Houston Park Programming
Every Monday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., visit Midtown Park for a $15 soccer-style fitness class. You’ll learn how to push your boundaries from former Houston Dynamo player Michael Chabala.
Each Tuesday in September, take part in a free total body workout at Midtown Park from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for a boost of energy.
Get Fit in Midtown with Crystal Wall
Join us for a special, free fitness series with some of Houston’s most popular influencers. Get Fit In Midtown with Crystal Wall of MixFitz Studio at Midtown Park from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Sunday, September 9.
On Tuesday, September 18 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., learn how to paint on canvas from Painting With a Twist Midtown instructors. The two-hour classes will take place at Bagby Park. Space is limited to the first 25 people who check in beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Wind down and wine down on Friday, September 7 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Head to Bagby Park and listen to live pop music from A Sure Thing.
This two-part Bagby Park workout class will be held on Saturday, September 8 and 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. It features an hour of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) followed by Yoga Flow.
Every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. you can purchase fresh produce and prepared food from local vendors at Elizabeth Baldwin Park.
On Saturday September 8 at 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. settle down in Bagby Park for live zydeco music from Ruben Moreno & Zydeco Re-Evolution.
Spend a weekend afternoon on September 9 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at this family-friendly Elizabeth Baldwin Park event complete with food trucks, live music and lawn games.
Thursday, September 13 is your opportunity to learn this popular Brazilian dance style. Head to Midtown Park from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Ever wanted to learn the unique Afro-Brazilian martial art of capoeira? From 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14 at Midtown Park you can get in on the action.
Visit Midtown Park on Saturday, September 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to take part in this family-centric martial arts class.
Any skill level can join the beat at this hip hop dance session held in Midtown Park on Saturday, September 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
There will be three Yappy Hour events in September where Midtown residents can enjoy a doggie playdate. The dates are September 19 at Midtown Park from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., September 22 at Elizabeth Glover Park from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and September 28 at Bagby Park from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
End your September with a centering outdoor yoga session on Saturday, September 29 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m at Midtown Park.
