Midtown Events
At this time, our community’s safety is our top priority. In accordance with the City of Houston, we are officially cancelling all Midtown events scheduled for the months of March and April. As you have surely seen in the media, COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to spread both locally and globally. The safety and well-being of our staff, vendors, residents, visitors, and event attendees is of paramount importance, and all decisions have been made based on those factors. We will continue to monitor the situation closely, and will update you as developments unfold.
Midtown Security
Our safety patrols and security presence will continue to operate as normal, but taking necessary precautions to minimize exposure. We understand your concerns around the closure and reduction of business operations and the unusual security risks this situation presents, but you can rest assured that The Houston Police Department is monitoring the situation closely.
Staying Healthy
The CDC recommends taking some simple precautions to help to reduce the risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses.
- Wash your hands with soap and water (for at least 20 seconds) frequently, but especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If unable to wash your hands, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then dispose of tissue properly
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces (door handles, gas pumps, etc) using a disinfectant spray or wipe.
We understand that the interruption from your normal day-today activities may be stressful, but know that these are temporary measures we must all take together to ensure the wellbeing of our community. We look forward to resuming events and activities as soon as possible. Thank you for being a part of the Midtown family.
