Sustainability is at the core of Midtown Park’s design. From native plants and shaded areas to a sophisticated stormwater management system that mimics the region’s natural bayous and recycles rainwater, every detail of the park contributes to a cooler, more resilient urban environment.

  • Reflecting Pool & Entry Plaza: Begin your visit at the tranquil southwestern entrance, where a serene reflecting pool and cascading waterfall create a peaceful introduction to the park’s dynamic environment.
  • Bayou-Inspired Landscape: Our ecologically friendly waterway, inspired by Houston’s bayous, features native plants and a sustainable water system that supports local wildlife while enhancing the park’s natural beauty.
  • Great Lawn: The expansive Great Lawn serves as the heart of the park, perfect for lounging, picnicking, or enjoying performances at the Camden Pavilion. This open-air venue is versatile for concerts, events, and casual gatherings.
  • Interactive Art & Features: Admire the striking 16-foot-tall mosaic mural by artist Dixie Friend Gay and engage with innovative art installations throughout the park. The capital campaign’s art contributions make Midtown Park a cultural landmark.
  • Play Areas & Water Features: Children and families can explore the unique playground with interactive elements for adventurous play and cool off at the Rain interactive water feature with its playful jets and light displays.
  • Dog Park & Social Games: Four-legged friends will love the Reliant Dog Park, designed with agility features, while visitors can enjoy Bocce Ball and Washers at the social games area.

Midtown Park is located at the corner of McGown and Travis Streets and is easily accessible via METRORail, bicycle, or car. The underground parking garage at 2811 Travis St. offers 400 spaces, is well-lit, and provides 24/7 security.

Parking Rates:

  • Monday-Friday 7am to 6pm for $1.00 per hour with an eight-hour maximum
  • Monday-Friday 6pm to 7am for a $5.00 flat rate
  • Saturday and Sunday for a $5.00 flat rate (subject to change based on local events)
