our plans
for a better midtown

midtown at work for you

Midtown Houston is always at work for you. From improving streets and sidewalks to creating vibrant parks and supporting local arts, we take seriously the job of enhancing the urban experience in the heart of Houston. By prioritizing community needs and enhancing existing assets, we will ensure a safe, walkable, and welcoming neighborhood that meets the needs of its residents, businesses and visitors.

Midtown parks and public space master plan

Our new master plan is a forward-looking blueprint for capital improvements, land use, walkability, multi-mobility, parks, affordable housing, and community engagement. Building on the 2013 plan, it reflects extensive stakeholder input and captures the values and vision of those who explore, relax, and connect in Midtown Houston.

houston affordable housing plan

The Midtown Redevelopment Authority (MRA) and the Center for Civic and Public Policy Improvement (CCPPI) are creating workforce housing, preserving neighborhoods and helping families build generational wealth in Houston’s Greater Third Ward. This new approach to affordable housing is putting homeownership within reach for Houstonians who might otherwise be priced out of the market.

cultural arts master plan

In the heart of Houston lies a thriving cultural scene where creativity and community come together. Home to over 90 cultural arts organizations, including theaters, galleries, museums and music venues, Midtown is a vibrant hub for the arts. Explore how the Midtown Houston Cultural Arts Plan supports and celebrates this dynamic and walkable cultural scene.

service plan

Midtown is required to update its service plan every ten years. We are currently updating the plan for 2025-2034, which will guide community improvements and priorities for the next decade. Learn more about how you can help shape the future of Midtown. We need your input!
