Business Grant Opportunities

This summer, Midtown Houston is creating opportunities to help local businesses build visibility, attract new customers, and activate their spaces during one of the city’s busiest visitor seasons.

As Midtown continues to serve as a key destination between Downtown, East Downtown (EaDo), the Fan Festival site, and the stadium, these grant opportunities are designed to help businesses participate in the momentum of Summer 2026 in meaningful, public-facing ways.

Two grant opportunities will be available beginning May 1, 2026:

  • FIFA Social Media Marketing Grants
  • Midtown Community Project Grant – Summer 2026

Applications for both opportunities open May 1, 2026 and close May 15, 2026.

FIFA Social Media Marketing Grants

Midtown wants to help promote Midtown businesses during FIFA season through a simple paid social media support program.

The Midtown Houston Economic Development Committee is offering a total of $7,500 in FIFA Social Media Marketing Grant support, with 15 businesses receiving a $500 value in paid social media advertising support each during June and July.

Through this opportunity, selected businesses will receive up to $500 in paid social media advertising support. Midtown will manage and place the ads on each business’s behalf through Meta Business Suite.

Through this program, Midtown will run paid social media ads on behalf of selected businesses, helping increase visibility and awareness leading into one of Houston’s highest-traffic seasons.

Grant Value

  • 15 businesses selected
  • Up to $500 value in paid social media advertising support per business
  • $7,500 total program value

  • Promotion Period: June 1 – July 31, 2026

How to Apply

  • Confirmation that social media profiles are public and searchable
  • Website link

After the application window closes, Midtown will review all submissions and follow up by email with selected applicants.

Qualifications

  • To qualify, businesses must meet the following requirements:
  • business must be located within Midtown’s district boundaries
  • must have an active Instagram or Facebook page
  • social media profile must be public and searchable
  • must have posted at least 8 times in the last 60 days
  • profile should be complete, including:
    • business name/category
    • address and/or hours
    • contact information
    • website link

Midtown Community Project Grant – Summer 2026

Midtown Houston wants your business to shine during a summer that is sure to be filled with visitors. Midtown will be a key destination for visitors moving between Downtown, East Downtown (EaDo), the Fan Festival site, and the stadium. To help Midtown businesses enhance visitor experiences and activate their spaces during scheduled citywide events, the Midtown Houston Economic Development Committee is offering Direct Support Grants through the Midtown Community Project Grant – Summer 2026 program.

Grant Value

  • 10 Direct Support Grants
  • $1,500 each

  • Application Open: May 1, 2026
  • Application Deadline: May 15, 2026
  • Project Period: June 1 – July 31, 2026

Purpose of the Grant

These grants are intended to help businesses create community-centered experiences that bring energy to Midtown during the summer season.

The goal is to:

  • elevate Midtown business events during the summer season
  • create community buzz
  • attract visitors into the district to support local businesses
  • respond to feedback shared by residents and business owners during the Service and Improvement Plan workshops about how Midtown can activate around FIFA

Eligible Projects

For Direct Support Grants, businesses may propose projects such as:

  • installing a temporary public cooling station
  • hosting family fun nights or game nights
  • hiring busker-style musicians to perform on an outdoor sidewalk or front-facing patio for Make Music Day or other dates between June 1 and July 31, 2026
  • hosting open gallery days
  • placing artwork in store windows through paint or vinyl installations

  • must be a verified Midtown business owner
  • proposed events or activities must be family-friendly
  • events or activities must be free and open to the public

Façade Improvement Grant

The Economic Development Committee of the Midtown Management District (MMD) has established the Façade Improvement Grant to provide funds for commercial property owners within the District’s boundaries, in support of revitalization on a case-by-case basis. Matching grants are available in various dollar amounts up to $5,000. Grants are available on a 50/50 match basis. Your project completion goal June 14, 2026.
