The Mistletoe Market to return to Houston with “Home for the Holidays” Theme

HOUSTON— Mistletoe Market, the annual two-day celebration, will return and offer guests the opportunity to experience an immersive holiday market featuring over 40 artisans and specialty crafters. Taking place on Saturday, December 14, from 12 pm to 9 pm and Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 12 pm to 6 pm at Midtown Park, 2811 Travis Street, the holiday extravaganza will feature unique gifts, holiday décor, and handmade treasures. From beautiful wreaths to custom art and sweet treats, the Mistletoe Market is the perfect destination to find something special for everyone on your list.

In honor of this year’s theme, “Home for the Holidays,” the event will be centered on bringing together families, local artisans, and performers to gather and celebrate in the midst of the holiday season.

“The Mistletoe Market offers an unforgettable holiday experience that allows visitors to explore Midtown Park’s vibrant, festive atmosphere while supporting local makers and artisans,” said Cynthia Alvarado, Director of Operations for the Midtown Management District.“Through our ‘Home for the Holidays’ theme, we want to capture the essence of warmth, togetherness, and cherished family traditions that make the holiday season so special.”

  • Activities and Features:
    • Interactive Displays: Experience captivating interactive displays, such as a 20×30” LEGO house created by LEGO Masters S4 contestant Tim Howell, decorated with lights and holiday scenes, and a festive Santa Art Car designed by the late Bryan Taylor in partnership with the Houston Art Car Klub. Don’t miss the relaunch of Chalk on the Block, where 15-20 local chalk artists will bring holiday-themed murals to life along Anita Street and the park’s giant chalk wall.
    • Photos with Santa and Elves: Capture unforgettable holiday memories with Santa and his cheerful elves.
    • ArtJams Holiday Craft Classes: Join holiday craft sessions hosted by Styled Holiday Décor and Pop Shop America. Create gingerbread houses, mistletoe ornaments, holiday mugs, and more. Special classes for kids and adults include decorating stockings, centerpieces, and festive trays.
    • Family-friendly Activities: Write Letters to Santa at our dedicated station and watch your wishes make their way to the North Pole. Kids can also enjoy face painting from artists dressed in festive holiday attire.
    • Local Performances: Enjoy live holiday-themed performances by two of Houston’s favorite national artists, The Ensemble Theatre, and upbeat holiday jams from DJ Mav.
    • Food Trucks and Seasonal Treats: Warm up with hot chocolate, coffee, and holiday treats from local vendors, including Stuff’d Wings and Gumbo Xpress.
    • Giveaways: Visit the Midtown Management District booth for special giveaways, including limited-edition Mistletoe Market ornaments and commemorative tote bags. Engage with community groups for games, resources, and fun prizes.
    • Urban Paths Walk Tour: Join a guided Urban Paths Walk Tour, exploring Midtown and enjoying the festivities.
