HPD Chief’s Citywide PIP

The presentation topic will be Homeless Outreach Team (H.O.T.). The H.O.T. is a specialized team of Houston police officers and mental health caseworkers who engage in street outreach to the homeless community. The goal of the outreach is to reduce the number of people living on the streets by helping them overcome their personal obstacles. The team is relationship focused and has developed an excellent working relationship with the homeless, government agencies, and the provider community.
