‘Tis the season to get a jump start on holiday shopping at the Midtown Mistletoe Market. This year, the event will take place at Midtown Park, Midtown Houston’s newest green space. When you see red and white tents, you’ll know you’ve arrived.
The annual Mistletoe Market is a boutique-style event featuring fine arts, handmade crafts, epicurean style foods and entertainment. It’s a great way to get in the seasonal mood and put some sparkle into your weekend.
Here’s all the fun you can expect on Friday and Saturday November 16-17:
Shop and Bop at Midtown Mistletoe Market
Friday
Starting at 5 p.m., enjoy ‘Mistletoe at Night’ holiday shopping and a movies in the park, opening with A Charlie Brown Christmas followed by Home Alone. There will also be food trucks like Churrasco Food Truck, known for their fried plantain and Brazilian sandwiches. You can also grab some cotton candy, popcorn and movie snacks at the Snack Wagon.
Snap a selfie in front of the Holiday Chalk Wall by mural artist Anat Ronen. Then head over to the Game Garden for some extra fare and fun.
Saturday
Beginning at 9 a.m., you can enjoy merry celebrations with breakfast in the park and mimosas. In addition to the food trucks, chalk wall and games, there will also be instagram-worthy photo opportunities.
Engage in a series of craft projects for kids and adults from Young Audiences of Houston or check out the oversized, interactive holiday-themed coloring panel. Stop in at the beer garden and set your ear to morning easy jazz and strolling carolers.
From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. there will be Painting with a Twist, but remember to arrive early since seating is limited to the first 30 guests. And be sure to bring your pets dressed for their holiday photo shoot ‘Santa Paws’ in the dog park.
Throughout the weekend you can select delightful gifts for family and friends from market merchants like Hot Glass Works, Keanu’s Cookies, Vintage Silver Ware Co, Rachel Dory Fine Art and more.
