During the winter season, Midtown Houston embraces the festive spirit wholeheartedly – and so should you! Whether your goal is to sip, shop, eat or play, you’ll be able to find your dream holiday outing at one of these five charming establishments:
- The Ensemble Theatre
Catch a showing of ‘Christmas is Comin’ Uptown’ at The Ensemble Theatre through December 30. This unique twist on the classic ‘A Christmas Carol’ story features a colorful and jazzy makeover of the traditional tale.
- Mid Main Houston
You can complete an evening of entertainment in Midtown Houston at Mid Main Houston from 3500 to 3700 Main St. The area offers many distinct opportunities to eat, shop and rock. Local favorites include Natachee’s Supper ‘N Punch, the record shop Sig’s Lagoon for music junkies and coffee and cocktail lounge Double Trouble.
While you’re there, pop into the new craft beer spot, The Brass Tap which offers about 60 taps of craft beer, as well as a number of bottles.
- The Breakfast Klub
The holidays wouldn’t really be the holidays if we didn’t stuff our faces with delicious food more than once. Enjoy a brunch with friends, family or both at The Breakfast Klub (3711 Travis St). This diner-style restaurant places a heavy emphasis on finger-lickin’ good soul food. Their specials include scrumptious meals like ‘chikin fried chikin’ and ‘krawfish fettucine.’ They even offer fun holiday gift sets with items like their famous ‘TBK Waffle & Pankake Mix.’
- Midtown Houston Parks
The weather is so perfect, it would be a shame not to get outside and immerse yourself in the fresh air. Take a visit to Midtown Park or Bagby Park, where you’ll find a festive environment perfect for a cozy walk with a warm beverage in hand.
- The Continental Club
Visit The Continental Club at 3700 Main St for live, local music. On December 16, they will also be hosting a pop-up ‘Holiday Cabaret’ with artists from across Houston participating in the family-friendly performance. Above the Club, there are fun shops you can explore like Upstair’s Lair, Trey’s Vintage and The PLACE Upstairs.
Making the season merrier isn’t so hard in Midtown Houston!
