Stay Iced Up at the Official Pre Party of the Texas AdvoCare Kickoff in Bagby Park

We “Stay Iced Up,” with local legend Paul Wall’s classic Heart of a Champion album as the central theme of the free Bud Light “Party in the Park” concert and Rico’s happy hour scheduled for Friday, September 2, 2016 in @midtownHOU’s @BagbyPark, located at 415 Gray St. While we rarely require an excuse to party in @MidtownHOU, this is a celebration of the unofficial kickoff of the 2016 college football season featuring the University of Houston (15) vs. the University of Oklahoma (3) and is the official pre-party for the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff scheduled for Saturday, September 3 at NRG Stadium.

The Bud Light Party in the Park will begin at 6 p.m. Both schools will host pep rallies on site, starting with Oklahoma at 6 p.m., and followed by UH at 6:30. Cheerleaders, school mascots and football legends representing the Sooners and Cougars will attend.

“Midtown Houston is thrilled to partner with Bud Light again. The Final Four March Mayhem concert in Bagby Park was a success and we imagine this will surpass it,” says Amaris Salinas, Programming & Marketing Manager for Bagby Park. “We’re excited to host supporters for both schools in our green space.”

The event also features a drumline performance that promises to keep the atmosphere festive, sponsor activations, giveaways of apparel, tickets and sideline passes for the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff.

Rico’s Morning + Noon + Night features a happy hour menu capable of satisfying any appetite. The free concert, open to visitors of all ages, is the latest in a series of events showcasing Bagby Park in Midtown Houston as the standard of new urbanism.

“We’re extremely excited,” says Raymond Cleboski, marketing manager for Silver Eagle Distributors. “It’s in a great location for all of Houston, a growing location. To have an area that has an outdoor park is great for the community. This is our second activation we’re doing at the park in partnership with Midtown Houston, and we’re looking forward to it.”
