Midtown Houston is kicking off Pride Month with a bold new public art installation at Bagby Park that celebrates the city’s LGBTQ+ history through color, creativity, and community storytelling. The Midtown sign has been transformed into a visual journey that honors cultural landmarks, community icons, and the enduring spirit of inclusion that defines Houston’s queer legacy. 

As part of the Street Safety & Public Realm Enhancements project, the Midtown Management District (MMD) Urban Planning Committee has approved a series of upgrades along the Gray Street Bikeway.

Midtown Houston is a neighborhood on the rise with more people moving in, businesses opening, and parks and public spaces alive with activity. But as Midtown continues to grow, so does the need for consistent, visible public safety.

As Midtown Houston looks ahead to a more walkable and connected future, we are excited to share updates on the street overlay and sidewalk improvement projects now underway. These infrastructure enhancements are designed to create safer, more accessible streets which better serve our community of residents, visitors, and businesses.
