Urban Planning Committee Meeting

Collaborate with businesses, developers, residents, and other entities to encourage enhancements that are consistent with the unique urban character of Midtown Houston. This month, the Committee will host Plan Downtown for a special Neighborhood Connections Workshop. Plan Downtown is a 20-year vision that will guide the future development priorities as Downtown continues to grow and thrive. Although separated from Downtown on all sides by the freeway system, the adjacent communities are vital to the sustainability of Downtown; and an important component of the work underway is addressing neighborhood connections—the physical, social and economic challenges and opportunities. The Neighborhood Connections Workshop is an interactive, planning workshop for the community to share ideas with the Downtown planning team and assist in the development of recommendations in an effort to strengthen the central city.
