Chalk on the Block

Watch one-of-a-kind art come to life before your eyes. Step into an interactive chalk art experience featuring local artists. This month’s theme will honor Juneteenth. Guests will also enjoy music and local park vendors while watching the art come to life. They’ll have the chance to enjoy bites and drinks from local food trucks.

This month we partner with Pop Shop America to create succulent terrariumsThis is a free class with limited seating. This event is also limited to guests who are 18 years or older. Check-in begins at 5:15 pm and reserved seats will be released to walk-ins after 5:45 pm.

Get out and get moving in Bagby Park! Featured instructor Roz Jones will conduct a High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class at 9:30 am and Yoga Flow class at 10:30 am for all fitness levels, weather permitting. Roz Jones, Fit Lifestyle Innovator, is a dynamic and influential force of energy and enthusiasm. As a seasoned fitness professional, Roz’s classes build strength, flexibility, and endurance.

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)  9:30am – 10:15am

Be prepared to burn calories and build character by combining cardiovascular training, strength training, functional flexibility, and music for a solid 45-minute practice.

Equipment Needed: Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring a mat and water; resistance bands are optional.

Yoga Flow 10:30am – 11:15am

Movement, music, and mindfulness are the focus of this Baptiste-inspired, powerful yoga flow that engages all your muscles for increased mobility and strength.

Sound Bath Meditation

Join us for a sound bath meditation using sound as a tool to cultivate and support deep relaxation. The listener is” bathed” in waves of sound, which can relieve stress and anxiety by calming the mind and body. No experience necessary. Conducted with our partners at Gongsia Sacred Sound Sessions. We encourage attendees to bring a blanket, a mat, or anything you need to be comfortable while laying down. Classes are free and open to the public. Ages 18+ preferred.

In the words of the late Olivia Newton-John, “let’s get physical!” Join us for a fun, retro music-inspired workout while enjoying your favorite hits from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s.  Neon attire and leg warmers are highly recommended! Attendees who bring the most friends to class or dress in their best retro workout gear will have a chance to win some cool prizes! This class is hosted by our partners Yuriamor Fitmixcommunities combining all elements of fitness – cardio, balance, flexibility, boosted energy, and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class. Classes are free and open to the public. Family Capoeira

Experience Afro-Brazilian martial art teachings that develop strength, coordination, and discipline in our Family Capoeira session. Instruction is provided by the Brazilian Cultural Institute and is open to families of all sizes and skill levels.
