The weather is heating up and so is Midtown Houston! Whether you want to bask in art or stay healthy alongside your loved ones, Midtown has something for everyone. Here’s what’s in store at Midtown parks in April:
- Get Fit in Midtown
Get out and get moving in Bagby Park! Featured instructor Roz Jones will conduct a High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class at 9:30 am, and a Yoga Flow class at 10:30 am for all fitness levels, weather permitting. Roz Jones, Fit Lifestyle Innovator, is a dynamic and influential force of energy and enthusiasm. As a seasoned fitness professional, Roz’s classes build strength, flexibility, and endurance.
High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) 9:30 am to 10:15 am
Be prepared to burn calories and build character by combining cardiovascular training, strength training, functional flexibility, and music for a solid 45-minute practice.
Equipment Needed: Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring a mat and water. Resistance bands are optional.
Yoga Flow 10:30 am to 11:15 am
Movement, music, and mindfulness are the focus of this Baptiste-inspired, powerful yoga flow that engages all muscles for increased mobility and strength.
Equipment Needed: Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring a mat and water; yoga straps and blocks are optional.

- Samba
Learn a popular Brazilian dance style during this exciting class. Samba is a partner dance from Rio de Janeiro that evolved as a ballroom dance to the Brazilian samba musical rhythms. The class is free and open to all skill levels. The Brazilian Cultural Institute provides instruction.

- Family Capoeira
Join us for Family Capoeira class, a unique Afro-Brazilian martial art that develops discipline, coordination, strength, and rhythm. Instruction is provided by the Brazilian Cultural Institute and is open to families of all sizes and skill levels.
